The Battle For Faith

We are at war.

This war is raging not against flesh and blood, but against the unseen forces vying for our very lives. The stakes are high. Our most foundational definition of existence - of what it means to live life - hangs in the balance. The battle is for the attention, the affections, and the faith of every person on earth.

Throughout history a pattern has emerged: in the midst of great moral decline and national crisis, God - in His mercy - pours out a spiritual revival that ignites societal transformation. During this shift through spiritual  awakening and reformation, a prolific missional surge arises, evidenced by missionaries sent to remote and unreached locations. In this present day of  economic crisis, social degradation, and "luke-warm" Christian living, it’s clear that a radical shift must occur in the Western world. Prior to Jesus’ grand departure from earth and glorious entry into Heaven, He spoke the words that impart eternal purpose to every believer:

Matthew 28:18-20, “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

The message is clear; the assurance is certain. We must GO, and He will always be with us.

In our media-centric, entertainment-addicted culture, courageous living has too often been diminished to the thrill of a video game or the latest Hollywood film. Millions have become engrossed in virtual worlds of fantasy that carry little, if any, eternal value or impact.

The human heart longs for joy, for significance, for glorious meaning that extends beyond our lifetime on earth. Eternal, divine DNA has been placed in every believer to live a lifestyle of obedience to Christ - courageously running into the harvest field bearing the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus. Our reward is the fruit of obedience - joyfully living with Him in full and satisfying relationship for eternity. We must fight to believe that every one of Christ's commands leads to life, and as we walk these commands out in courage and boldness, He will surely fulfill everything He has promised us!

The war rages on.

But we fight as part of the winning army - an army equipped with the Love and Truth of the Living God.

The hour has come to take courage, offering God our surrender, our "yes," our very lives.

The harvest is plentiful, and the joy of joining our Father in His redemptive plan for humanity is beyond all comprehension.

Who will say yes? Who will go?

Be the answer.
